A narrative short video inspired by abandoned Salton City in California.
The heat of 115 degrees in the vastness of the desert, a salted dead lake, a place once inhabited by people now occupied only by the remains of memories corroded by time. A wild woman finds within nature the means to survive in a dead world.
The photographs of this projects will be soon released in a publication.
During the capture of the images the camera would close its shutter from being overheated, the equipment barely made it through the day but in the end we got incredible images that in my vision could be the life in a post-apocalyptical world when Earth has no longer the capacity to held life and only the strong and versatile will be able to resist to extreme conditions.
This project was shot in a Sony A7RIII with a Sony 50mm f 1.4 lens and a DJI gimbal.
My vision was to create contrasted images with soft moves and colors. Despite of not being able to see much of what I was getting due to sun exposure the result of this journey is beautiful and it has a metaphysical feeling of human existence.
